What are the uses of graphite products

Graphite products: graphite anode, graphite, high purity graphite and graphite products oxidation reaction
At room temperature, carbon does not react with gases. At about 350 DEG C, amorphous carbon has obvious oxidation reaction, graphite, high purity graphite to about 450 degrees Celsius to start oxidation reaction. The higher the graphitization degree is, the more complete the crystal structure of graphite is, the higher the activation energy of the reaction is, and the better oxidation resistance. At 800 degrees or less, to achieve the same rate of oxidation temperature, graphite carbon materials than high 50~100 C. In the same material, binder carbon has a tendency to be preferentially oxidized, so the oxidation reaction to a certain extent, the aggregate particles will fall off.
The reaction between carbon and gas belongs to gas-solid reaction, which depends on the reaction rate of the surface and the diffusion velocity of the gas molecules. If the porosity of carbon materials is high, especially the open pores, gas molecules tend to diffuse into the interior of the material, the surface area involved in the reaction, the oxidation rate is fast. When the temperature is low, the reaction rate is not high, and the gas molecules have enough time to diffuse into the interior of the material. When the temperature is higher than 800 DEG C, chemical reaction rate, and the gas molecules within the pores of material diffusion because of thermal motion decreased only in surface oxidation, the oxidation rate by surface flow dominated by small and material type relationship.
The impurities contained in the carbon materials play a catalytic role in the oxidation reaction, so the oxidation and obvious difference between the high pure graphite and the common graphite.
